Zimbabwe Travel Guide lists accommodation inside the same traveller geography as the rest of the site: region first, then town, park or area, then the property itself. Every property page is written and checked here before it links anywhere else, and the only outbound link on it is a clearly labelled availability button. We do not operate any accommodation, set prices or take bookings.

Choosing where to stay in Zimbabwe

Match the base to the experience. For a safari, staying inside or on the edge of a park — Hwange, Mana Pools, Matusadona or Gonarezhou — saves hours of driving each day. For the Victoria Falls, Great Zimbabwe or the Matobo Hills, being close enough to arrive early matters more than being in the wilderness.

Cities are usually one or two nights. Harare and Bulawayo are practical arrival and departure bases; much of Harare’s accommodation is in the northern suburbs rather than the centre.

Understand the property type. Safari lodges and tented camps often include activities and meals and may operate seasonally; guesthouses and self-catering units give more flexibility; on Lake Kariba, a houseboat is both the accommodation and the trip.

Allow for distance. Two nights is a sensible minimum almost anywhere worth the drive, and three suits the big parks.

How listings work

Properties are added destination by destination after their identity and location have been checked. A destination showing no properties has not reached that stage yet — it does not mean there is nowhere to stay. Some links from property pages are affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure.
