Guided walks along the Zimbabwean rim cover about two thirds of the falls’ width, and a guide is worth having for the geology and for knowing which viewpoints are running at your time of year. Victoria Falls town sits on the Zimbabwean bank of the Zambezi, a short walk from the rainforest viewpoints and close enough to the gorge that the spray is visible from the main street in full flood. Most visitors base themselves here for two or three nights and fill the days with a mix of water, air and game viewing.
