Where this fits in your trip
Game viewing in this part of Zimbabwe is waterhole-led: animals come to water, so the dry season from roughly July to October concentrates sightings. Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park, roughly two hours south of Victoria Falls by road, and is best known for very large elephant herds that gather at pumped waterholes through the dry months. Game viewing is done from open vehicles and, at some camps, on foot with an armed guide.
